Nave Nave Mahana (1896) is a post-impressionist painting by Paul Gauguin, created during his time in Tahiti. The title, which means "Delightful Days" in Tahitian, reflects the tranquility and harmony Gauguin sought to capture in the island's natural surroundings and culture. The painting features two Tahitian women seated under trees, one wearing a bright red dress and the other in yellow, with lush greenery and a serene backdrop of the South Pacific landscape. Gauguin employs bold, flat areas of color and simplified forms to emphasize an idealized vision of the island, blending the natural beauty with an exoticized portrayal of the local people.
